HotelChatter || Snapshot: Aloft and Element in Lexington Might Make Actual Opening Date

Thanks to a tipster in the Northeast we were able to see some construction shots of Aloft Lexington in Massachusetts, which is scheduled to be the very first Aloft hotel to open later this summer.

And since the sister brand Element Hotel is going up next to Aloft, we were able to get a report on that as well.

Freezing tipster writes:

Went by aloft / element in Lexington MA recently. tons of workers -- the two properties are right next to each other right off 128 South (think Sand Hill Road in Silicon Valley if you are west coast based). nice to see the construction site was very active and crowded -- should be able to open by the July 1 2008 target date. Not much done inside, but the outside is coming together.

Nice! First time i've seen pictures of any aloft in development!

A little disappointed by the color scheme - looks like a school building. But unfortuatly Starwood was forced by the town to use red brick by the town to keep along the lines of the "historical character" of the area, so their hands were tied.

yeah, i just recently went to Denver and stayed in Aurora and saw the construction of the Aloft going up over there as well.... (i took pictures so i can post those as well).... but yes, it does seem like they are scattered around the country in random places..... but the one i'm looking forward to is the one in my neighborhood here is the Brooklyn Bridge Aloft.....

update: looks like this opening will be pushed back to fall 2008. andrew calvo says sept. 08 for aloft, and october 08 for element.

I drive by this hotel during my morning commute.
It used to be a Sheraton before it was torn down.
It's outside of Boston right off of Rt128 (Rt2A exit) in Lexington.

The other hotel, Elements, not pictured above, is actually a creamed colored building and the hotel name is now up on the building structure.
Tocci, the construction company, however, has a huge banner draped over the top side of the building that is facing the highway.

It appears that Elements is one building and Aloft is twice as big.
