The 60-room hotel will be at Madison Ave and 27th St (close to Shake Shack!) and will "pay homage" to the neighborhood.
What exactly the means, we don't quite know-- but here's the official description from the press release:
In the ground floor lobby and restaurant you'll find rough ironwork, cobblestones, and exposed beams, accented by bronze and brass details, antiqued mirrors, and a hand-painted Fornasetti-inspired gold mirror. In the guestrooms and suites, patterns and fabrics in red, black and gold are layered to give the feeling that pieces have been accumulated over time.
"Overall, The Wolf has sense of patina and history, as if it has been there for years," adds Zeff. The Rioja Lounge will serve as a sensual destination for a glass of wine or a delectable meal, and the rooftop venue will boast incredible views of the Empire State Building and the original Met Life Tower.
Ummm, did you say rooftop venue? Hot.
We'll be keeping our eye on The Wolf for you -- and we will attempt to restrain ourselves from making bad fairy tale or animal jokes whenever we discuss Desires Hotels (what? Iron Horse, Wolf -- it's a veritable zoo of hotels!)
